A questionnaire consisting of 19 multiple-choice questions and two openended questions was administered in the Freshman and Sophomore English classes in January 2000. The result of this survey not only revealed the students'preferences for English study but also pointed out their wishes for the program, such as implementation of more speaking activities and more varieties in the choices for elective English classes.\nBased on the outcome, the authors propose some suggestions for possible curriculum changes and advocate the necessity for further faculty development.
